A respectable quote –
“To be soft is to be powerful.”
~ Rupi Kaur
This is the month of Mother’s Day and spring renewal so thoughts come up about “The Feminine”. The “Feminine” way of being is indeed powerful, for it is always life affirming and inclusive. Yes, it is known to be kind and nurturing…and yes, it can be fiercely determined and courageously wise.
Feminine power is in no way exclusive to the female gender; as we all possess these masculine and feminine traits within us. This power of the feminine to which I’m referring, is the power of your heart. It is an emotional intelligence, a kind of knowingness that operates from one’s intuitive and compassionate nature.
I’d like to address the power of the feminine that has to deal with the skillful art of collaboration and cooperation.
Open-heartedness…
…is the trusting of the heart and allowing details to unfold naturally. It is the moment we pause to breathe and take stock in the decisions ahead of us. Then we listen to our heart, our soul and move from there.
Compassionate implementation
Organization and managerial skills are important tools and to partner those with compassion creates a real clear path to success. Knowing that your fellow workers, your family, your friends may not do things the way you do – will help leave space for the differences that create a truly inclusive collaborative unit.
Creativity
So often we think of creativity as solely part of the world of the Arts, but when we view creativity as available and “working” on a daily basis we open up to our own creativity. The definition of creativity is “original ideas” so we can take a new route to work, cook a new recipe, structure our day differently and express our own creativity.
Gentleness…
…can be powerful. A gentle nature allows people to feel safe. It makes it easier for people to express themselves and when people feel that open freedom miracles happen.
So this month, let’s celebrate these traits in all of us and give those “mother figures” in our lives an extra hug and thank you!

Alex-you are a Champion, your positive attitude and heart full of love is the best cure for any illness. I have had cancer many times, starting in my early 20’s. I am still alive and well 36 years later! Cancer is not stronger than I AM. Be patient with yourself. There are bad days but there are lots of Wonderful Days too. Just like all human beings. LOVED your GMA interview and was happy to find it on YouTube. The ocean of love and prayers being sent your way is powerful!!
PS-when I had a prognosis of less than a 20% five yr survival, I said that’s good news!
I know I am in the top 20%! Unless the prognosis is 0% – there are survivors! Go Alex!
We will share your message with Alex…thanks so much for your kind comments and our best wishes to you for continued health. All the best.
Thank you for your well wishes, they are truly appreciated.
All the best to you and all you hold dear.
Praying for Alex (and your whole family).

“It is the moment we pause to breathe and take stock in the decisions ahead of us.” I have been taking many of these pauses recently and not once have I thought, “that was not a good use of my time.” So thank you again for the reminder. Well done and write one!
Love, Maur
Holding all of you in my heart and in my prayers. The world truly needs more people like Alex and Jean Trebek! Class and grace personified. Thank you for sharing your journey with the world.

Dear Alex,
My name is Isabel Parra,
I was born and raised in my beautiful Mexico City, I came to United States forty years ago. I had no family in California and up until this day my family is very small. Two sons, two granddaughters, and one daughter in law. No cousins, no aunts, no grandparents, nothing. When I came I did not know a word of English -NOTHING- it was a sad and scary time.
One day, almost 34 years ago I heard your voice on TV and I was able to understand your perfect English, and the greatest thing was that I was able to read it listening to you. I never went to school to learn English, I had the best teachers at home: Alex Trebek and Mister Rogers.
I have been learning by your side for years. I am a cancer survivor and my heart and prayers go to you and to your family.
You will always live in my heart and in my mind, my mind that thanks to you now is a bilingual mind. This year marks my year number 30 working as a Translator and Interpretation Specialist and now I am able to record Jeopardy and have the opportunity to listen to your beautiful pronunciation as many times as I like.
How I wish I could meet you in person. I admire you and I am in love with your heart.
Eres mi gran heroe. God bless you, I wish the best of everything for you and your family in this new journey.
Dear Isabel,
Thank you for sharing your story…It truly touched my heart.
I will share it with Alex.
Many Blessings to you always.
Love, Jean
