Okay!! I think we all got the message how important sunscreen is to the health of our skin. To find a really great sunscreen that I love to wear and actually reapply it daily has brought me finally to this brand, EltaMD Skin Care.

I appreciate the fact that it’s light in texture, comes in sheer to tinted colors and is available in a range of high broad-spectrum coverage. This brand also offers a wonderful body spray and great facial cleaners as well.

It’s easy to get and worth having a couple of tubes around for convenient application.  I like to keep one in my car, purse and my bathroom.

El Matador State Beach

As the weather gets warmer, I love being outdoors and one of the best places to enjoy is the beach!

The Robert H. Meyer Memorial State Beach has three beautiful beaches in Malibu. My favorite is the El Matador State Beach. When you arrive at the parking lot right off of the Pacific Coast Highway, you are on a beautiful bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. One incredible  trademark of El Matador are the rock arches that rise from the sand and tower over beach-goers. It’s a really unique beach with stunning views, tide pools and great waves. Have fun!

Kitty Likes To Scratch

I have been using this “Kitty Likes To Scratch” mini eyeshadow palette from Too Faced for the past few weeks and I absolutely love it. The pigments are so gorgeous and vibrant! They even have a discount roulette wheel on their site for first-time customers — I can only imagine everyone appreciates making saving money more fun. Too Faced has a few other mini-palettes you might like if this color combo isn’t for you.  I like using a little bit of the black on the outside corners of my eyes, a little brown and red in the middle, and the sparkly pinkish purple on the inside corners to open up my eyes… so that I can walk back into the dating scene fresh-faced, covered in pigmented armor, and ready for the next “first date”. ;^)

Shaker & Spoon Cocktail Kits

Shaker & Spoon is mostly known for their cocktail recipe subscription service, but did you know you can also purchase individual cocktail kits? That’s what we did to test drive their spirited concoctions.

We ordered the El Palenque kit from their Fall For Mezcal box series. The packaging was superb. Everything neatly and safely packed in a fun box of goodness. It included everything we needed for the recipe except the alcohol and highball glass.

We were supplied with a simple, clear instruction card and enough ingredients to make 4 drinks with some left over for future cocktail creativity. It also included a bit of information about the origins of the drink and the creator of the flavor profile which, in our opinion, enhanced the experience and enjoyment of this tasty beverage. This particular cocktail kit was reminiscent of Mexican street vendor refreshments tepache or kombucha with its deep citrus flavors. Hats off to its mixology creator.

The ingredients were not items that I would typically have on hand, so I definitely felt like I got my money’s worth for the quality, creativity ad convenience. We are looking forward to taste testing more from Shaker & Spoon’s cocktail kit collection and sharing the good by sending some as gifts to friends.
