Editors Monthly “Share”
insidewink co-founders, Jean Trebek & Alison Martin, sharing thoughts on the world around us and some questions you might ask to keep your integrity.
Hello friends,
We begin our letter to you with a little trivia tidbit— the month of August (named after Augustus Ceasar) means “inspiring reverence or admiration.”
That’s perfect because our theme this month is integrity. Integrity has such a layered meaning—as it means something different to each one of us.
Here are some questions that came up for us when we started discussing integrity…
- Can you be honest with your feelings through these trying times?
- Can you allow others space to truly be themselves?
- Can you hold firm to your own convictions and ideals?
- Can you let go of how you think things should be?
- Can you embrace the present just as it is?
Our admiration goes out to those who are moving with integrity through these unprecedented times.
Looking ahead, here’s what’s coming up…
Our everyday hero came to us through an email from her sister… her name is Tricia Patterson and she is an unbelievable force for good!
You can write to us too! We love sharing stories of inspirational people. Learn more about getting in touch with us here.
Anne Cochran continues her incredibly popular series on getting your student into the right fit college and poses the questions, “What does college look like during a pandemic?”
We feature the wonderful photography of Carl Studna as our artist this month.
The Ir David Foundation is our charity this month and they committed to uncovering and sharing Jerusalem’s long and storied past. Be sure to look for the article to learn more about them in mid-August.
And, of course, more of Jean’s wonderful Reliable Recipes and personal stories too. We have some wonderful new writers we know you will really enjoy reading.
We’ll talk again soon!
Much love,
Jean & Alison

My wife Angela was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in 2004. We had retired to Florida and were enjoying our life until then. For 2 and 1/2 years I watch her struggle with the disease. Saw a woman I never knew existed. She was a fighter, never ever complained and I loved her even more.
On February 2, 2007 I lost the most beautiful part of my life.
“I Take Thee Angela” became my mantra, which I wrote to honor her bravery and our life together.
Alex Trebek has been in my prayers each morning and will be until I know he has conquered this terrible disease, because I know how devastating it is to watch someone so special in your life suffer.
God Bless you Alex and Jean Trebek.
Dear William,
Thank you so much for your sharing above…and for keeping Alex in your prayers. Like your beautiful wife, he is a fighter and everyday is a gift.
Many Blessings to you and your family.
Jean
