insidewink’s editors monthly “share”
Hello friends,
It’s February… a short but mighty month that holds Valentine’s Day right in the middle. February 14th – designated as the day you tell someone you love them. That started us thinking. Love, although truly powerful and important, it is such a “used” word. It seems like it’s everywhere, especially this month.
So Alison and I were thinking that maybe we offer ourselves other words for Love.
How about?
Acceptance
Allowing
Closeness
Gratitude
Connection
These all speak to our desire to express affection, devotion and respect.
You don’t need a partner or significant other to celebrate this month. We can hold to the idea that extending love to ourselves is so important. We are usually the last on our lists of care taking.
And enjoying a place – your home, your view, your neighborhood walk, your office is also a reason to feel the joy this month affords us.
Then let’s talk about pets and the unconditional comfort and companionship they give us. From dogs to cats to fish to birds those special friends that always love us no matter what!
We’re siding with the Beatles. “It’s so fine, it’s sunshine. It’s the word – love…” just as John Lennon proclaimed. So, let’s acknowledge Love is everywhere in February and onward!
Looking ahead, here’s what’s coming up…
This month we look forward to Kathleen Noone’s interview with me. She talks about changing the word “surrender” to “allowing” and the powerful shift that can bring.
My good friend, M. Eileen Hickey, writes an article for us again about loss and love within her family.
I share a light and easy lemon cheesecake recipe in the coming weeks. It makes any meal sweetly complete.
And lastly, right around Valentine’s Day, we feature a charity that is close to my heart – The Children’s Burn Foundation. I’m a softie when it comes to children and this foundation helps the most vulnerable.
We hope this month is full of love and good feelings for you.
Much love,
Jean & Alison
